Elizabeth Wood
1879 January 9–1967 July 9
As chairman of the literature department of the Narberth Women's Community Club, Elizabeth Wood founded the Narberth Community Library. With 18 books purchased on a $30 budget on a windowsill in her home at 12 Avon Road in Merion (demolished 1925), on January 31, 1921 the club began lending them at 10¢ per week.
