Joseph Mullineaux, Jr.
1839 December 13–1928

Josph Mullineaux, Jr. married Mary Penrose Furey in the 1860s. In the 1870 census, he and Mary are shown in the household of her mother Maria Furey, who lived in the 1690 Edward ap Rees farmhouse on the Haverford and Merion Road, located near today's corner of Forrest and Windsor Avenues.
From the house itself ran through quite a beautiful grove, the main entrance or driveway, following a course similar to Forest avenue. To the east of this drive was another small dwelling and spring house in which dwelt for a considerable length of time one of our oldest citizens, Mr. Joseph Mullineaux, Jr. … Mr. Marmaduke Moore and Mr. Joseph Mullineaux, Jr., were sons-in-law of Mrs. Furey and lived here long before it became a village, and may correctly be called the borough's oldest residents.
—Carden F. Warner, Narberth's Historcal Prelude, 1905.
Mullineaux joined the Narberth Park Association at its second meeting in November 1889. He was Narberth's second Burgess and fifth Borough Council President, one of only three elected to both positions. From 6/14/1910 to 10/30/1913 he served as Narberth postmaster.
