John Henry McQuiston

1892–1918

Narberth Roll of Honor

John Henry McQuiston worked as a machinist at the Autocar plant in Ardmore before he entered the Army. John's military burial record, shown here, indicates he was killed in action on 29 July 1918, although it does not give details of the circumstances. But based on the date and the location of his initial interment (Harponville British Military Cemetery, Somme, France), it should be possible to narrow the possible engagements in which it took place.

His draft card dated 2/18/1918 lists his address as 313 Hampden. John was the older brother of Hugh McQuiston, so uncle to the many other McQuistons on the Roll of Honor.
