Narberth Couple Celebrate Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary

The sixtieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Vincenza Wetherill was celebrated on Monday March 27th, at their home on Dudley avenue. Owing to Mrs. Wetherill having recently been in rather poor health, the occasion was celebrated in a quiet way. Taking the form of a reception from 3 to 6 P. M. During this time there was an almost constant stream of friends calling upon the venerable pair, congratulating them and invariably bringing some token emphasizing the great respect with which they are regarded. Mrs. Wetherill is 79 and Mr. Wetherill 84 years of age, and in spite of his age, Mr. Wetherill is quite active and able to discuss the affairs of the day, whether it be politics or any other interesting subject. The bride and groom are very genially disposed. In answer to a remark that sixty years is a long time to live together, Mr. Wetherill said, "Well, we got along pretty smoothly in the first 20 years or so, there wasn't a great deal of friction, but things began to loom up a little differently about that time, so I just decided to let Mrs. Wetherill have her way about things, and we have been getting along very nicely ever since." To this the bride replied, "That is his side of the story." The guests enjoyed the neat repartee.
