First Firehouse
This is the former stable and carriage house for 417 Haverford Ave. In 1897, it provided the first storage for the equipment of the new Narberth Fire Company:
One of the great obstacles to be overcome was the finding of a suitable stable for the apparatus. When the apparatus first arrived it was stored at the stable of Mr. M. S. Moore, on Haverford avenue (now occupied by Mr. Loos).
—"History of the Narberth Fire Company", Our Town, November 12, 1914.
The real estate cards indicate it was converted to a house in 1977–78, at the time 417 Haverford was subdivided and demolished.
